Yunlu Composites has successfully closed a multi-million-yuan Pre-B+ funding round, with Shanghai Sports Industry Investment Fund (SSIIF) as the lead investor. Leveraging its shareholders' extensive reach in sport, the fund focuses exclusively on "sports-plus" opportunities. Jiushi itself stages multiple world-class events, operates flagship venues and owns leading professional clubs, giving it unrivalled influence and a proven record in promoting mass participation.

The investment in Yunlu represents SSIIF's first strategic move into the "sports + advanced materials + smart manufacturing" space. Through capital injection, resource sharing and an integrated industry ecosystem, the fund will help Yunlu commercialise its carbon-fibre composite innovations at speed—specifically in lightweight sports equipment and performance-upgraded athletic gear—thereby driving the high-quality development of the wider sports sector.

Building on nearly two decades of research led by an academician team from Donghua University, Yunlu has developed proprietary 3D-braiding smart equipment and processes.
